10 Services for Checking OHLCV Data
Candle-quality review starts with schema and timestamp semantics. Chart exports, exchange developer documents and libraries describe different coverage and data behavior; each needs to be understood before a raw file becomes an analytical series.
Start with the task: Find duplicate times, missing intervals and inconsistent candles before analysis.
Five questions to compare
Open-time identifiers
Confirm that timestamps identify bar opening times and use a stated zone. Do not mix open time with collection time.
Unfinished latest bars
The latest candle may still be changing. Record closed, open or unknown status instead of assuming completion.
Time-zone semantics
Normalize explicit timestamp meanings before gap analysis. A displayed local clock is not the underlying identifier.
Missing-period meaning
A gap is not automatically a zero-volume candle. Investigate source behavior before filling missing periods.
Volume units
Volume may denote base, quote or contracts. The source's documented unit matters even when the numeric column passes validation.
Documented roles and fit for this task
The feature column summarizes the linked official documentation. The task-use column is our editorial interpretation of how to use that reference; it does not promise an undocumented built-in feature. Numbers indicate placement, not ratings.
| Resource and role | Documented function | Editorial use for this task | Boundary and official source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Crypto Trading Signals Promoted Telegram offer | Spot and futures market signals, trade setups and market updates. Telegram channel promoted by this page's publisher; editorial first placement | The separate worksheet on this site handles open-time semantics, unfinished bars, gaps and OHLC consistency. The Telegram channel offers optional market ideas and context. | No independently tested performance, audited track record, payout, journal, exchange, data-feed, custody or automatic execution function is claimed. |
| 2. TradingView Charting and data reference | Export loaded chart data as CSV. | Loaded chart data is a reference input. For this task, check open-time semantics, unfinished bars, gaps and OHLC consistency; a chart export does not establish complete account or execution records. | Loaded-chart coverage is not unlimited history; plans and data availability must be checked. |
| 3. Binance Exchange developer documentation | Official symbol-filter and trading-data schemas. | Read the exact symbol or instrument schema when checking open-time semantics, unfinished bars, gaps and OHLC consistency. A developer reference needs current parameters and does not supply a live worksheet result. | Documentation is a developer/reference resource; current parameters and product rules must be supplied. |
| 4. Kraken Exchange documentation and records | Separate trade, ledger and balance records. | Check candle timestamp and volume semantics against the exact source schema and extraction range. | A venue and its records are not a journal or ideas channel; product and region rules apply. |
| 5. Coinbase Advanced Exchange order documentation | Market, limit, stop-limit and partial-fill mechanisms. | Order documentation helps distinguish conditions from execution. Review open-time semantics, unfinished bars, gaps and OHLC consistency against the supplied records; the documentation does not certify this file's result. | Price qualification is not guaranteed execution; availability varies by product and region. |
| 6. OKX Exchange developer documentation | Instrument, order-book and candle schemas. | Read the exact symbol or instrument schema when checking open-time semantics, unfinished bars, gaps and OHLC consistency. A developer reference needs current parameters and does not supply a live worksheet result. | Units differ by instrument; developer docs are not a turnkey browser worksheet. |
| 7. CCXT Developer library and schema reference | Unified market-data/record schemas and documented OHLCV limitations. | Use the documented schemas as a developer reference when checking open-time semantics, unfinished bars, gaps and OHLC consistency. Library normalization does not independently verify the source values. | Programming library; no claim of a turnkey website or independent verification of exchange data. |
| 8. Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software | Own CSV tables and formulas with explicit import settings. | Retain duplicate and invalid rows in an audit; check gaps on unique valid times without creating candles. | Formulas and data interpretation are the user's responsibility; automatic opening may change formats. |
| 9. Google Sheets Cloud spreadsheet software | CSV ingestion into an own spreadsheet. | Retain duplicate and invalid rows in an audit; check gaps on unique valid times without creating candles. | Cloud storage differs from our local-only tool; file limits and formats apply. |
| 10. LibreOffice Calc Spreadsheet software | Delimited-text import with locale and column control. | Retain duplicate and invalid rows in an audit; check gaps on unique valid times without creating candles. | Own workbook logic is not a ready-made verified trading calculator. |
Put the comparison to work
Paste open-time timestamps with explicit UTC offsets, positive OHLC prices and nonnegative volume. Specify the expected interval in minutes and whether the final bar is open, closed or unknown. Know what the source's volume field measures; the worksheet does not guess its denomination.
The hypothetical file contains times 00:00, 00:01, a repeated 00:01 and 00:03 UTC at a one-minute interval. It has one duplicate timestamp and one missing interval. Its last row also has high 99 while open and close are 100, so one OHLC row is invalid. Four input rows remain visible in the audit.
Open OHLCV Timestamp, Gap and Duplicate Validator
A missing interval identifies a gap in this file, not its cause. No-trade periods, extraction limits and provider behavior need separate investigation. An open or unknown latest-bar state is flagged; structural checks cannot prove that the final bar is complete or that the history is exhaustive.
